Agriculture Agriculture is the backbone of India, as more than 50% of the country’s population depends on agriculture. So to make the backbone strong we should focus on updating our Agricultural Sciences to next level in terms of education, research and extension. we have many State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and research institutes and regional stations along with Krishi vigyan Kendra's (KVKs) that are working under Indian Council of Agricultural Research that’s based in New Delhi. Agriculture is the main stream where we have to mobilize funds, because the main essential thing for any organism after oxygen and water is food.
